Serving the Citizens of Berkeley County Since 1966!

In 1966, four teenagers were over due from a boating trip on Lake Moultrie. There was no established organization to coordinate the search. Therefore, volunteers in the community united to search for the missing teens. All four teenagers were found save and sound. From this, the seed was planted for some form of organized response, thus the Rescue Squad was born. The Squad has grown quite a bit since then but the mission is still the same. We are a 30 member all not-for-profit organization that operates with a very limited budget and a lot of hard work and dedication from our members. We are funded primarily by public donations with Berkeley County filling in the rest. We are no longer receiving funds from the Trident United Way, however; individuals may continue to specifically designate their Trident United Way contributions to the Berkeley County Rescue Squad. We ask that you consider designating your funds to our organization. 100% of every dollar goes towards our operation. It's very hard to put a price tag on a human life. Please stop by and see what your contributions help to fund. If you re interested in joining, go to our Members page and download an application!
